Andrew Hunt is an artist and organizer of Slimvolume Poster Publication, a yearly publishing project that was initiated in 2000. To date, the project has commissioned over a hundred artists to produce works that have been sent to individuals, institutions and collections throughout the world. The project’s structural approach is motivated by the relationship between each artist’s edition and the publication’s recipients who are selected by the artists and Andrew Hunt. An imaginary community is built, and an archive is assembled that is methodologically structured yet continuously re-inscribed by the less apparent social relations that have formed it. Since 2001 Slimvolume has been shown at the Austrian Cultural Forum, London; Sparwasser HQ, Berlin; Konst-ig, Stockholm; Vilma Gold, London; Essor Gallery Project Space, London; Norwich Gallery; Redux, London and Outpost, Norwich.
