Founded in 1999 in Donostia, San Sebastian, The Basque Country.

Co-founded and directed by curators Leire Vergara and Peio Aguirre, D.A.E. work without a defined space, and begin projects from the starting point of «art-as-activity« and a noted awareness of socio-political context. Their projects introduce new modes of performance that aim to re-explore the potential of interventions in public space. They work on commissioned artists projects and parallel activities such as presentations, publications, video screenings and miscellaneous events. Their recent projects include Front Line Compilation (2002). An art encounter between Northern Ireland and the Basque Country.
