Fiteiro Cultural is a Public Art work, a social sculpture which carrys a utopia within itself: a cultural space or non-locus defined by the community in which it is placed. Fiteiro Cultural is a polymorphic structure created by Fabiana de Barros and first realised as part of the Laboratoire project, in 1998, in Joao Pessoa, Brazil. In collaboration with two artists, it was contextualised in 2002 in two further places: Kiosque ˆ Culture in Sion, Switzerland with Mireille Mercaton-Wagniéres and Peripteron de Cultur in Athens, Greece with Maria Papadimitriou.
