Lives and works in Zürich, Switzerland and Tehran,
Iran.
Tirdad Zolghadr is a writer and curator. Since 1999, the thematic setting
for his work has shifted from mideast feminist theory to modernist architecture
to contemporary art. Since 2002, he has worked together with photographer
Shirana Shahbazi and the graphic designer Manuel Krebs, on various publishing
and exhibition projects under the title Shahrzad. Recent curated projects
have included the exhibition Ethnic Marketing (co-curated with Martine
Anderfuhren in Geneva, 2004). Despite the range of approachs, the main
preoccupation of his work has largely remained the same, that of the transfer
of knowledge and ideology between Europe and Tehran, and, more particularly,
the mise-en-scene of internationalism in the arts.
